Rules

 
  • Play 2v2 or 4v4 (same number on each side)

  • Sub players can rotate in between rallies if needed

  • Teams of 2-4 for 2v2 league and 4-6 for 4v4 league

  • 1 ref per court

Teams


  • “Match” refers the whole game

  • Matches are divided into three ”sets”

    • The first two sets are played to 21 points

      • Win by 2 (cap at 25)

    • The third set (optional) is played to 15 points

      • Win by 2 (cap at 20)

  • The team that wins best 2 out of 3 sets wins the match

Game Format


  • Rally scoring (every rally ends in a point)

  • Point if:

    • Ball lands in bounds

    • Opponent hits the ball out of bounds

    • Opponent hits the net with any body part

    • Opponent hits the ball under the net

    • Any body part goes under the net to potentially interfere with play

Scoring


  • Underhand or overhand

  • The server must stand behind the back line

  • If the serving team wins the point the same server continues

  • If the receiving team wins, they rotate and serve

Serving


Boundaries

  • Ball is IN if it touches any part of the line or on the court

  • The ball is OUT if it lands completely outside the lines

  • If it’s too close to call, replay the point


  • Maximum of 3 hits per side

  • Block does not count as a hit

  • No obvious lifts or carries

Hits


Net Rules

  • No touching the net during play

  • Don’t reach over the net to interfere, only blocking is allowed

  • No body part can go under the net if it will potentially interfere with play


  • 4v4: rotate positions clockwise when your team wins the serve

  • 2v2: just alternate servers (no strict rotation needed)

  • Listen to your referee

  • Call your own lines honestly

  • No arguing—if there’s a dispute, replay

  • Keep it fun and keep it moving!
